Lance Arsmtrong has commented on the fifteenth stage of the Tour de France as he does every day on his podcastl The Move and, although he believes that if the photographers' bikes had not stopped Tadej Pogacar's attack, he believes that morally the winner of the Morzine stage.
"If this was a round in a boxing match, Jonas Vingegaard has won the round. I don't think the team rode the smartest way, I don't understand what he did running at the front looking back, but if this was a round in a fight, he would have won it, he got the bonus in the intermediate sprint and he's gained time in the overall standings," he said.
The Dane has won a second because of the bonifications won at the top of the climb, whilst Pogacar beat him in the final sprint. The duo start stage 15 with only 10 seconds between them and the yellow jersey continues to be on the edge of a cliff for Jumbo-Visma.
Lance sends a message to Tadej Pogacar about his riding: "What I would say to Pogacar would be if you go after him, that's fine, but go after him, don't let him come back. That's the most important reason (why he considers the 'round' to be Pogacar's,' beyond second overall. The mere fact of staying there, controlling himself, not losing his nerve or losing time means he won the round."
