Joshua Tarling's first foray into Grand Tour racing has sadly been brought to an end before the first rest day after a crash on stage 9 of the 2024 Vuelta a Espana.
"Sadly we can confirm that Josh Tarling has abandoned #LaVuelta24 following a crash on stage nine," announces the official social media pages of the Welshman's team, the INEOS Grenadiers. "Josh was initially able to remount his bike but was unable to continue. He will be checked by INEOS Grenadiers medical staff. Further update to follow."
