Jonas Vingegaard of Team
Jumbo-Visma got another comfortable solo victory in stage 3 of o
Gran Camiño ahead of
Ruben Guerreiro of Movistar Team and
Attila Valter (Team Jumbo-Visma).
A big breakaway with 12 riders was formed early on the race, with notable presences of Rohan Dennis (Team Jumbo-Visma), Simone Velasco (Astana Qazaqstan Team), Jonathan Lastra (Team Cofidis) and Sebastian Schonberger (Human Powered Health). Schonberger managed to get enough mountain points to become the leader and virtual winner of the mountain's classification since tomorrow will be an ITT without mountain points available, so he only has to finish the race.
The break was caught around 14 km to go as Caja Rural, Cofidis and Jumbo-Visma pulled the peloton. The Hungarian Road Champion Attila Valter made a strong pace in the beggining of the climb that reduced the peloton to just 4 riders, he himself, Vingegaard, Ruben Guerreiro, and Ion Izagirre. And in 1.5 km to go Vingegaard went alone with another strong attack that nobody could follow.
Jonas Vingegaard gets his second stage win in his second complete competition day and keeps his leader's jersey. Ruben Guerreiro finished second 21 seconds behind and Atilla Valter who worked a lot for Vingegaard managed to finish third, 35 seconds behind his teammate as Ion Izagirre crashed in the very dangerous roads right before the finish.
