Jay Vine claims victory at Australian time trial championship

The Australian time trial championships saw Jay Vine secure a hard-fought victory, as he completed the 37.5-kilometre course with a time that was three seconds faster than time trial specialist Luke Durbridge.

Durbridge was on top, but his dominance was short-lived as Vine demonstrated his speed by finishing three seconds faster. Kelland O'Brien secured the bronze, trailing Vine by 25 seconds.

Luke Plapp was also one of the favourites, however, he encountered a mechanical issue with his chain which resulted in him losing valuable time and ultimately ending up in fourth place.

Grace Brown was the victor in the women’s race, completing the 28.6-kilometre race in a time of 40 minutes and 58 seconds. Georgie Howe, who came in second place, was 38 seconds behind her. Brodie Chapman, the reigning road champion, came in third.
