After finishing two years in third place, Italian Vittoria Guazzini took the win in Le Samyn after being the strongest of the breakaway that ended up taking the win at the finish line. This is her third victory as a professional and her first in a road race. Of course, she was very happy with the victory.
"I'm very happy because it's the third time I've come here and in the two previous years I finished third, two years ago I made a mistake, I didn't launch the sprint and the peloton came from behind and chased me down. Today I wanted to go full gas before the finish, this is a relief for me to win here after last season. It's hard to cooperate because you can lose energy, you can be tired by the end. But I was confident, I knew the finish and I just wanted to push to the end. I thought they were going to catch us, but you have to believe, I did it and I'm very happy. It's my first road victory, the other two were time trials, it's nice to raise my arms".
