Ben Healy won Irish championships in style. When the group entered final circuit with 100 km to go, Healy attacked mercilessly on the lone climb in every lap, quickly reducing size of the group, until he went clear with four laps to go. EF Education-EasyPost rider crossed the line with over four minutes of advantage and gave his point of view in team's press release.

"It’s going to be super awesome to wear this jersey this year," Healy said after the podium ceremony. "The last time I had it, I was a U23, and now to finally wear it in the WorldTour means a lot. Hopefully, I can do it justice."

From the start Healy was determined to ride his own race. "For me, it was a matter of attacking aggressively. They were not really coordinating in the group well and in the end they let me go. I just paced my effort to the finish and it was enough in the end. Now, I’m here with the jersey and I can be happy with that!"
