Caleb Ewan returned to winning ways on the opening stage of the 2024 Tour of Oman, sprinting to a brilliant stage win, his first triumph since returning to Team Jayco AlUla colours.
"It feels good to win finally," reflected the Australian sprint star in his post-stage interview with Team Jayco AlUla's social media team. Although Ewan did open his 2024 with a win in the Australian National Criterium Championships, this victory in Oman is a level-up.
"I've had a few opportunities now that haven't quite paid off," he says of the opening few weeks of his 2024 season. "The boys did an amazing job today. They looked after me perfectly and it was a hard uphill finish so I really needed to time it right and thankfully it all went to plan today."
In a quality sprint lineup, Ewan took the win ahead of the likes of Bryan Coquard, Alexander Kristoff and Fabio Jakobsen among others.
