Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux lead the way to sign Rui Costa

Rui Costa will be leaving UAE Team Emirates at the end of 2023, leaving the team without one of it's oldest and most experienced pieces and part of it's Portuguese contingent, and there are several teams with the interest of his services.

It had been reported that several teams were possibilities for the former World champion, with EF Education-EasyPost and Movistar Team between the teams rumoured, aswell as the newly-financed B&B Hotels-KTM, however it seems as if the Belgian Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux is also on the run for his services for the upcoming seasons.

The Belgian team has ascended to World Tour level, where it has been thriving this season, however they remain focused on the Belgian calendar which provides tons of opportunities for it's classics riders to thrive. Costa may have his opportunities, however his experience and talent in the one-day races may be the main objective of this transfer, helping younger riders and the overall team performance.
