Following his emphatic win on the final stage of the
Tour de Romandie,
Fernando Gaviria sent out a warning to his sprint rivals prior to the upcoming
Giro d'Italia.
"I'm really ready for the Giro d'Italia now," the
Movistar Team sprinter told Eurosport immediately following his victory. “This race was very important to me, because I trained a lot in the run-up to the Giro. It went really fast on the toughest climb of the day. I had to release, but the team decided to wait for me. Fortunately, we came back quickly afterwards."
