"I am really happy for the win. I have dreamt to become the 'best African cyclist' after having come close to winning in the past. This year I had the best season of my career so far and I'm excited to make the next step with Astana next year," Mulubrhan expressed.
He recieved the most votes from the jury, chaired by five-time Tour de France champion Bernard Hinault, and consisting of twenty renowned riders, coaches, journalists, managers and organisers, involved with the racing on the African continent.
