Vingegaard's main rival of course will be the former two-time Tour de France winner,
Tadej Pogacar. After crashing out of Liege-Bastogne-Liege and fracturing his wrist, Pogacar has not raced. Instead, the Slovenian has been training at an altitude camp, something that de Cauwer believes could raise questions.
"The Slovenian has questions. He still has to fully heal after his wrist injury and has had a disrupted preparation," explains de Cauwer. "It remains to be seen."
