Team Jayco AlUla men’s team announced addition of established U23 formation Hagens Berman Jayco as the WorldTour team's UCI development team from 2025 onwards.

This is by no means shocking news since the Australian and American teams were already in a partnership since 2024. The cooperation clearly satisfied the higher-ups in Jayco AlUla who have given a green light to incorporate the team managed by Axel Merckx into its official structure. Among other benefits, Jayco AlUla may now bring riders from Hagens Bermans Jayco to start with WorldTour team in certain races and gain invaluable racing experience.

Team Jayco AlUla manager Brent Coppeland: "We are thrilled to be able to call Hagens Berman Jayco our official development team. Axel has done an incredible job in building the team over the last decade, which can be seen by the number of riders that have passed through and become stars in the WorldTour peloton with victories in the biggest races."

Hagens Berman Jayco team manager Axel Merckx: "We are grateful to Team Jayco AlUla and owner Gerry Ryan for belief in our program and their commitment to the future of cycling. We are excited to find a partner, alongside Hagens Berman and Steve Berman, who shares our passion for rider development and nurturing the next generation of talent. With this partnership, we’re excited to build a stronger foundation for success and continue shaping the future of the sport together."

Hagens Berman Jayco is a professional U23 cycling team with a great reputation in the cycling world. Founded in 2009 by Axel Merckx, a world-class professional cyclist and son of legend Eddy Merckx, the team has graduated 50 plus riders to the top echelons of the sport and quickly become the most successful developmental team in cycling.
