2026 Giro d’Italia classifications will evolve day by day across three weeks of racing between 8 May and 31 May, from the Grande Partenza in Bulgaria all the way to the final stage in Rome. Every summit finish, sprint stage, breakaway, and time trial has the potential to reshape the fight for the Maglia Rosa and the Giro’s other jerseys.

General Classification Standings after Stage 4
Four stages down and we are already onto our fourth Maglia Rosa of the race. After two days in pink, Guillermo Thomas Silva was conclusively dropped on a frantic stage 4, sinking from GC contention. The result, Lidl-Trek's
Giulio Ciccone taking the overall lead at his home Grand Tour for the first time in his career.
The Italian leads the trio of
Jan Christen, Florian Stork and Egan Bernal by 4 seconds, with Thymen Arensman and Giulio Pellizzari two further seconds back at +6 from Ciccone.

Points Classification Standings after Stage 4
Paul Magnier has been bringing in points in a consistent basis and remains the clear leader in this classification. With two bunch sprints battled - and won - by the Frenchman, he has already gathered 105 points.
No points added by the Frenchman on stage 4, but thanks to his victory Jhonatan Narvaez now emerges as a new contender, leaping up to 3rd on 50 points.

King of the Mountains Standings after Stage 4
No breakaway on stage 4, but Diego Pablo Sevilla is still bringing in the benefits of his efforts over the past few days to Team Polti VisitMalta. The Spaniard is leading the KOM classification and has been carrying the Maglia Azurra since day 1, and continues to lead.
Nelson Oliveira's breakaway escapades boost his chances however. The Movistar Team rider has surged up to 2nd overall on 18 points, leaping above both Jonas Vingegaard and Manuele Tarozzi.

Youth Classification Standings after Stage 4
Much like the overall classification, the youth classification leader has also changed. With Silva's complete collapse on stage 4, the Uruguayan drops out of the top-10 in the Best Young Rider classification too. Jan Christen takes over as leader, a welcome boost to the UAE Team Emirates squad after their disaster opening three days in Bulgaria. Lurking dangerously though, Giulio Pellizzari now sits just 2 seconds down.
