GC Update Paris-Nice 2025 stage 7 - Skjelmose drops out of the race, Storer jumps to Top5 with stage win and Jorgenson defends himself from Lipowitz

Stage 7 of Paris-Nice was expected to be the queen stage, but the gaps that have emerged atop the Auron ski station were minor, and small in comparison to the team time-trial, steep summit finish and crosswinds that have happened in previous days. The GC favourites were equally matched, but Michael Storer did take full use of his breakaway to jump into the Top5.

The Tudor rider is now fourth in the GC after winning the stage, but a mere 15 seconds ahead of João Almeida. Magnus Sheffield, Brandon McNulty, Clément Champoussin, Tobias Foss and Harold Tejada complete the Top10.

Thymen Arensman remains in third place, 1:20 minute behind Matteo Jorgenson who defended himself. The yellow jersey lost 3 seconds at the finish line to a strong Florian Lipowitz, but the German still has 37 to get back which will be a hard task even on a difficult final day.
