Gabriela Guerra will make her professional road cycling debut at the age of 32 after signing a two-year contract with Cofidis. The Brazilian, a two-time e-cycling world silver medallist, is taking on a new sporting challenge after showing her potential in her first races on the road.
Her move to the French team marks a decisive step in an unconventional career, shaped by a range of sporting disciplines and steady progress to the top level of virtual cycling. Guerra now hopes to bring those strengths to the professional peloton and find out how far she can go in international races.
The cyclist first came to prominence as a teenager in Germany, initially making her mark with her skateboarding skills. She shared her experiences with thousands of followers on her YouTube channel. Later, she balanced business ventures in Brazil and Germany with sport, focusing particularly on mountain biking, where she also claimed several victories in the United States.
She entered virtual cycling during a winter stay in Germany. What began as a pastime on the indoor trainer developed into a high-level sporting career, bringing victories and two silver medals at the UCI World Championships. But the Brazilian was not content with her e-cycling success and decided to try road racing last September.

Two victories convince Cofidis

Guerra took on her first road races with German team Wheel Divas Cycling Team in the closing weeks of the season. Results came quickly: she won the Riderman in Germany and the Mirabelle Classic in France. Those performances boosted her confidence and caught the attention of Cofidis, which has decided to back her development over the next two seasons.
The cyclist says her main motivation is to find out whether she can transfer the skills she developed in virtual racing to the road. “I’m really curious and excited to join Cofidis. I want to see whether I can transfer my e-cycling strengths to the road,” she explained. Guerra also said her first racing experiences had left her eager to take on the challenge, without any particular fears.
The Brazilian’s aim is to adapt gradually to the demands of professional cycling, support her teammates and discover the highest level of international competition. Her signing gives her the chance to show that the experience she gained in the virtual world can provide a springboard to road racing, though she will need to prove her potential against rivals with far more road experience.
Cofidis sporting director Raphaël Jeune highlighted the strong impression Guerra made in her first races and her determination to embrace the change. The French team hopes to support her development and help her progress over the coming seasons. After winning two e-cycling world silver medals, the Brazilian now begins a new chapter as she seeks to establish herself in the professional peloton.
