Flanders will host the European Cycling Championships in 2024. This was confirmed by the European Cycling Federation.
The races will begin at Heusden-Zolder, which hosted the World Championships in 2002. The race will conclude in Hasselt, the province capital.“World champions and young talents from the European continent will compete on the roads of Limburg and write exciting and important cycling history,” said Enrico Della Casa, President of the ECU.
It is the first time that the European Cycling Championships will be organized in Flanders, The event will run for five days, from September 11 to 15, 2024. A rainbow jersey will be awarded in thirteen different races, divided into elite, promising, and junior categories.
