After fifth place at yesterday's Classic Grand Besançon Doubs, fourth place was the maximum possible in the legs of Felix Gall at today's Tour du Jura. The Austrian from Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale pushed hard at the foot of the climb, but eventually paid for his efforts and couldn't follow the winner David Gaudu.
"There was a good pace all day with the early breakaway and I felt much better than yesterday," he explained at the finish. "I was also much better placed on the final climb and I did well. I tried to attack twice, maybe I should have waited a little longer. But it was a good day, I was active in the final, it’s positive."
On Sunday, third race in three days awaits riders in France in form of Tour du Doubs. The profile will once again favor punchy climbers. It remains to be seen whether anyone can dethrone the so far invincible Groupama - FDJ who won both previous races with Lenny Martinez and David Gaudu respectively.
