The
Giro d'Italia Women's route has yet to be officially announced, but one stage seems certain: Aprica will host the finish of one of the Giro's stages in 2025. That means the Mortirolo should return to the Giro d'Italia Women itinerary after a nine-year absence.
Aprica is a village near the Mortirolo Pass. Usually, an arrival in Aprica means that the Mortirolo has to be climbed beforehand. This also happened in the 2022 Giro d'Italia and the 2020 U23 Giro. The last time the Mortirolo was part of the route of the women's Giro was in 2016, when Mara Abbott won the stage. Marianne Vos won a stage that went over this climb all the way back in 2011.
