The World champion Elisa Balsamo has grabbed another high level win as she conquered today the women's Gent-Wevelgem. The Italian sprinter has won over the last few weeks the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the Brugge-De Panne Classic, and today has achieved another World Tour win.

As in the men's race, the attacks came over on the hilly section of the race, which went over the Kemmelberg twice, but the race wasn't selective enough. Several attacks came en route to Wevelgem, however the race came down into a sprint. Trek-Segafredo's Elisa Balsamo took a third consecutive win, beating Marianne Vos and Maria Giulia Confalonieri.
