Vincenzo Albanese will move on from Arkéa - B&B Hotels after just a year with the French team. The 27-year-old Italian will nevertheless stay in the WorldTour ranks as he agreed to another one-year deal. This time with the American formation
EF Education-EasyPost.
For the rider who previously spent seven seasons at the ProConti level in Italy, being able to ride for a big international team, such as EF Education-EasyPost, will be a completely new experience. "I'm very happy to become a part of this team," Albanese expresses in a
press release. "And I'm very, very motivated for next year. I will do my best."
"My very big dream for next year is to ride the Tour," Albanese says. "I have done the Giro, so the big goal this year is to make it to the Tour. I would love to do the Tour, win a race, and ride well at the classics."
"Vincenzo Albanese is a very consistent racer who can earn results for us from the start to the end of the year," team manager Jonathan Vaughters evaluates. "He has the strength to make it into the finales of the big classics and mix it up in hard grand tour bunch sprints. Our younger riders are going to learn a ton from his racecraft. Vincenzo knows how to keep a cool head when it gets chaotic in the peloton and put down his power when it counts. We think he is knocking on the door of a big win."
