Demi Vollering destroys former teammates Reusser & Van der Breggen to take victory on FDJ - Suez debut - “I feel very proud"

After her departure from Team SD Worx - Protime and the subsequent war of words in the media, Demi Vollering hasn't waited long to prove a point to her former employers. On the opening stage of the 2025 Setmana Valenciana Femenina, Vollering destroyed former teammates Marlen Reusser (now at Movistar Team) and Anna van der Breggen to take a dominant victory in her first raceday for FDJ - Suez.

“The team was really strong today, so I hoped to finish it off,” Vollering said in her post-stage interview afterwards, having gone clear on the final climb of the day and eventually prevailed by 30 seconds at the finish line. “I feel really good on the bike. When I saw Marlen and Anna working behind, I knew I had to give everything to the finish line.”

“I feel very proud because it is still so early in the season that I am already in good shape and I still have a lot of work to do,” Vollering continued. “The team gave me a lot of confidence to work for me in the plan we made."
