Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali have already the possibility of having Mathieu van der Poel at the startline but there will be at least one more rider set to bring in a heap of extra attention into the race, as
Israel - Premier Tech's
Chris Froome is set to make his season debut in Italy.
“It wasn’t an ideal start to the year, to be dealing with an injury, but I’ve worked hard to get my fitness back on track. Fortunately, it was only a minor setback. I’m looking forward to taking on the 2022 season with my first race being Coppi e Bartali," Froome said. He was set to start his season at the Tour of Rwanda but after having damaged his knee during the winter, his preparation was delayed and so was his start of the season. The Briton is now ready to race and will be in action in the coming week.
"It’s always a great experience to race in Italy and I can’t wait to get out there with my teammates," he added.
Israel - Premier Tech has not yet revealed their lineup for the Italian stage-race, however it is set to be lead by Ben Hermans who will be targeting a strong result in the overall classification.
