Charlotte Kool wins the first stage of the inaugural edition of UAE Ladies Tour. The Team DSM sprinter took advantage of the flat terrain presented during all stage to get a surprising sprint win against her former teammate Lorena Wiebes.
There was no breakaway due to a strong wind present during the stage. The crosswinds made the possibility of echelons real, and the riders tried but with not much success. On the second intermediate sprint the GC riders tried to gain some bonus seconds, Lianne Lippert (Movistar Team) and Silvia Persico (UAE Team ADQ) managed to gain 3 and 2 seconds respectively.

Some crashes happened within the last 4 kilometers putting some sprinters out of the discussion of the stage and affecting GC contender Elisa Longo Borghin who crashed within the last 3 km but didn't lose time (Trek-Segafredo). Despite the multiple echelons attempts all ended in a bunch sprint with the main favourites coming to the front.
Charlotte Kool won ahead of Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx) and Chiara Consonni (Team UAE ADQ). With this win she became the first ever leader of the UAE Ladies Tour.
