The Tour Down Under is set to start in the coming days, and in anticipation the peloton has took on the Schwalbe Classic. Caleb Ewan has started off his season with a win.
The non-UCI race saw many laps of a local circuit in Adelaide with the World Tour field. It all came down to a bunch sprint where Caleb Ewan, racing for the Australian national team, won the bunch sprint. He beat Jordi Meeus and Kaden Groves to the line.
Wollaston wins women's race
In the women's race, a leading group managed to stay ahead. Wollaston, who is under contract with AG Insurance-Soudal-Quick-Step, proved to be the fastest of the bunch and sprinted to victory. Michaela Drummond was second before Nina Buijsman from the Netherlands.
