Bahrain - Victorious will head to the upcoming Vuelta a Espana with plenty of strength in depth in the climbing ranks as they look to both mount a GC challenge and threaten breakaway stage wins.
"With the solid block of riders that we present for the Vuelta España 2023, we are looking forward to using our resilience and consistency to fight for a podium finish with one of our riders. With the high level of our rivals, we will have a difficult job but we also look forward to the battle for the young riders general classification," says sports director Neil Stephens. "Stage wins are always a high priority for us and we are hoping to tick as many boxes as we can on our goals and expectations list.”
Santiago Buitrago has been designated as leader of the team and as such will be the main GC hope. Whilst the likes of Mikel Landa, Damiano Caruso, Antonio Tiberi and Wout Poels can be useful plan-B options and will have opportunities in breakaways for stage wins. For the flat stages, Bahrain - Victorious will be backing Matevž Govekar, with support from Jasha Sütterlin and Kamil Gradek.
