With the 2024 road season having reached a conclusion, across the peloton teams are saying goodbye to riders and welcoming in new members of their respective rosters. At Bahrain - Victorious, they are saying goodbye to one of the longest serving riders in the peloton.
"Thank you Yukiya Arashiro for 8 incredible seasons with our team!" A farewell post begins on the official social media pages of the Bahrain - Victorious team. "Your dedication and commitment from the very start of our project have helped build the team we are today."
A three time Japanese national champion, Arashiro has also taken overall victory at the Tour of Taiwan whilst riding in the colours of Bahrain - Victorious. More often than not though, the 40-year-old is seen at the front of the peloton working hard to control the chase of the breakaway and keep his teammates well positioned and out of trouble.
An unsung hero of the modern peloton, Arashiro departs Bahrain - Victorious at the end of the season. "A true ambassador for Japanese cycling, your impact on the sport has been immense," continues the team's farewell to the rider. "Wishing you the best in your next chapter."
After his final race at the recent Japan Cup, Arashiro took to his own official Instagram account to say his own goodbyes. "Thank you for all of your support! Great to finish the season in a good way as a team and 3rd place for Matej. I was very happy to support even after being delayed from the leading group," said the Japanese.
