"Baby steps" - No bike ride yet, but Wout van Aert makes near 3km walk without crutches

Wout van Aert's 2024 season was cruelly brought to a premature end when the Belgian crashed out of the recent Vuelta a Espana in the third week. Although he's not yet back on the bike, Van Aert's recovery is making 'baby steps'. 

Posting to his official Strava account, Van Aert has uploaded a 2.7km journey in the Trento region of Italy, taking the Team Visma | Lease a Bike star 38 minutes. A leisurely journey perhaps, but for someone spotted on crutches very recently, the walk is a sure sign of the "baby steps" being made towards recovery, as Van Aert captions the post himself.
