AWARDS: Your votes crown Tadej Pogacar the inaugural CyclingUpToDate Men's Rider of the Year

Thanks to your votes, Tadej Pogacar has fought off tough competition from the likes of Mathieu van der Poel and Jonas Vingegaard to be crowned the CyclingUpToDate Men's Rider of the Year!

After another all-star season, Pogacar was voted as the rider of the year by 34.96% of the fans who took part in our awards poll. In second place, the winner of the Rainbow Jersey, Mathieu van der Poel took 23.85% (45 votes behind Pogacar), whilst Tour de France and Velo d'Or winner Jonas Vingegaard was forced third here, taking 17.89% (just over half the amount of votes received by Pogacar).

Looking down the list, Primoz Roglic just about collected a bigger haul of votes than his former Jumbo-Visma teammate and fellow Grand Tour winner in 2023, Sepp Kuss, whilst Wout van Aert, Jasper Philipsen and Remco Evenepoel were forced to settle for 17 votes between them.

For Pogacar, although he was unable to reclaim the Maillot Jaune, his campaign more than made up for that with incredible levels of success elsewhere. Notable one-day victories include a duo of monument successes at Il Lombardia and the Tour of Flanders, triumphs at the Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallone plus a pair of Slovenian national title wins. With victory at Paris-Nice and two Tour de France stage wins, the Slovenian was a superstar once again and an incredibly deserving winner.
