Movistar rider Arlenis Sierra has won the opening stage of the Tour de Romandie Feminin. She was the fastest in the final sprint and beat Liane Lippert to secure victory.
The weather was pleasant, and there were no signs of a breakaway at the start of the race, after some time, Katia Ragusa decided to try her luck and launched an attack, which was successful, and she took the lead of 1 minute and 5 seconds. She was soon joined by Elena Hartmann.

The duo was caught 40 kilometres before the finish line. In a chaotic sprint, Arlenis Sierra emerged victorious. Liane Lippert gave tough competition to Sierra, but she had to settle for silver in the end. Demi Vollering finished third.
