The Carlos Verona soap opera seems to have no end. Just a week ago it was done by INEOS Grenadiers. Then, the British backed out and the Spanish press assured that he was going to continue with Movistar Team.
The rider was going to be a starter in the Vuelta a España, but finally a virus left him out. Now, according to AS and Marca, the rider has signed with Lidl-Trek for the next two seasons (2024 and 2025).
If this information is confirmed, Movistar's squad for next year would be greatly weakened for 2024. The departures of Matteo Jorgenson and Verona were supposed to be compensated by the arrival of Carlos Rodríguez. However, it seems that the Granada-born rider will remain at INEOS, so they will have to look for another rider in the market;
