Alpecin-Deceuninck will take to the startline of Scheldeprijs this Wednesday with not one but two of the fastest sprinters in the peloton as defending champion, Jasper Philipsen starts alongside Kaden Groves.
A two-time former winner, Philipsen triumphed twelve months ago in a dominant showing ahead of the likes of Sam Welsford and Mark Cavendish. As he looks to make it a trifecta of Scheldeprijs titles, the Belgian can once again count on a very strong support network.
The likes of Robbe Ghys, Senne Leysen, Edward Planckaert, Ramon Sinkeldam and Simon Dehairs will all have important jobs to do in support of Philipsen and notably, whereas last year, Mathieu van der Poel was the plan-B/superstar leadout, this year that role falls to Kaden Groves.
