Jonas Vingegaard has concluded his second Grand Tour of the season, finishing second at the
Vuelta a Espana. It was the first time he's done so in one season, and very successfully, having the legs to win both, but supporting teammate Sepp Kuss to victory in Spain.
"A strong leading group broke away, so we still had to ride quite fast. That was tough, but we reached the finish and everything went well," Vingegaard told TV2. "The fact that we reached Madrid in first, second and third place is just insanely cool. All in all, it is a great experience." He then managed to enjoy moments on the podium of the Spanish race, both as second placed rider and teams classification winner alongside
Jumbo-Visma.
