Alexey Lutsenko becomes Kazakh time-trial champion for the third time

For the third time in his career, Astana Qazaqstan Team's Alexey Lutsenko has won the individual time-trial at the National Championships of Kazakhstan.

The 30-year-old was a dominant winner, finishing nearly a minute and a half ahead of his nearest rival, fellow Astana rider and also a three-time Kazakh time-trial champion, Dmitriy Gruzdev. 26-year-old Anton Kuzmin came home in third for the second straight year.

Lutsenko's previous two wins came in 2015 and 2019. With the Tour de France quickly approaching, it seems the 30-year-old has found some form after recently abandoning the Tour de Suisse due to illness.
