Alejandro Osorio wins the stage of the Tour of Colombia, but remains humble: "To be honest, this is for my team"

Alejandro Osorio, of the Erco Shimano team, achieved one of his major goals for 2024 by winning the third stage of the Tour Colombia. This triumph came after riding 141 kilometers divided into eleven laps of a circuit in Tunja. At the end of the stage, Osorio did not hide his happiness for this victory, highlighting the joint effort of the team to wear down the rivals and allow him to make a spectacular surge in the final meters.

Speaking to ESPN, the rider from Antioquia revealed the strategy that led them to victory in this stage, highlighting the fundamental role of his teammates, who supported him at all times and contributed to Erco Shimano's first victory in the Tour. Osorio expressed his gratitude to his team and his family, dedicating the victory to them and highlighting the importance of having achieved two of his goals in such a short time: winning the national championship and a stage in the Tour Colombia.

"To be honest, this is for my team. They gave me the confidence, and also for my teammates who have been willing to carry out the strategy. I want to dedicate this victory to them and also to my family who are here supporting me. Imagine, we are going to February 2024 and I have already achieved my two objectives. One was the issue of the championships and win a stage in the Tour Colombia, "said the rider.

Osorio attributed his success to the intense preparation during the preseason in December and January, which allowed him to compete in the national road race and secure the title, and then triumph in the third stage of the Tour Colombia, beating outstanding cyclists of the country. He acknowledged that his specialty lies in medium mountain terrain and circuits, showing some resignation for not being able to fight for the general classification due to the high mountain stages, where he faces greater difficulties. Despite this, he was optimistic and confident in his abilities to continue competing and aspire to new victories, hoping to have a similar opportunity in future stages.
