The future of Nairo Quintana is uncertain, and recently a report has indicated a French team - either Groupama-FDJ or AG2R Citroën Team - was interest in the Colombian's services, with him having several years of experience with Arkéa Samsic.
In a message shared by the French team, they've said: "Contrary to an information released in different medias AG2R CITROËN TEAM has never had any contact with Nairo Quintana or his agent and is not interested by his recruitment."
Although this limits the possibilities only to Groupama-FDJ, it also somewhat discredits the rumours that allegedly came from someone within Quintana's circle. Although having undeniable climbing and stage-racing prowess, the 32-year old's recent positive tests for tramadol at the Tour de France have cast a dark shadow on his palmarès.
Nevertheless, he has not been suspended from racing. Quintana has had his contract with Arkéa Samsic - until 2025 - ended and is currently looking for a new team into the coming season.
