Arnaud de Lie has started the 2026 Renewi Tour looking to defend the title he got over Mathieu van der Poel 12 months ago. The Lotto - Intermarché has confirmed that he will step away from the Belgian team at the end of the season, wanting a new chapter at Tudor Pro Cycling Team.

De Lie confirmed to join Tudor from 2027 onwards

De Lie turned pro in 2022 with Lotto, becoming its leader almost immediately, taking several victories in the sprints and classics. At only the age of 24, he is now moving away from Lotto having raced five seasons and having taken 35 pro wins.
This winter, the Belgian team is losing many of its main figures, including Lennert van Eetvelt and also Georg Zimmermann. It is a change of face for the World Tour outfit, but mainly for him, as he signed a new contract all the way into 2030 with Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
"Why did I choose to leave? It was the right moment to try something new," De Lie said ahead of the Renewi Tour, as reported by Wielerevue. "A career is short, so sometimes you have to choose. That can be difficult, but that is just the way it is. I am happy. It is a new chapter in my career, to be something new and to do things differently."
De Lie has achieved a lot, although illnesses and injuries have often come in the way of his consistency. This year he has won the Lotto Famenne Ardenne Classic and a stage at the Tour de Wallonie - a small list of achievements when comparing to previous years.
He is looking to take himself outside the box, looking for a new environment so he can grow, away from the environment in which he develop. "That is exactly what is new. If you take good friends with you, then you can't call it a new chapter. And that is exactly what I really needed."

De Lie ready for a last ride with Lotto

However before departing, De Lie still has two more months to race for Lotto. He is currently at the Renewi Tour, where he finished 10th in the opening stage. Whilst he has not shown his best form in months, the course packed with explosive stages suits him to perfection and could see De Lie bounce back to his best.
His final months are not yet cleared out in terms of calendar, but there are likely to be plenty opportunities to succeed in the one-day races that remain in the year.
"It is very good news for me, but there are still a few races left with Lotto first. The team has given me a lot, so it is up to me to give back as much as possible a few more times. I still have a lot of ambition this year," he concluded.
