At 78 race days, Jasper Stuyven already ranks among the busiest riders this season. And that won't change in the coming years, although for a completely different reason. That is, because Stuyven and his wife Elke Bleyaert are expecting their first child!
"We are adding a little more love & less wine (for one of us) to our adventures together," the couple wrote on their Instagram.
The couple announced the happy news on Wednesday, indicating that the baby is expected to arrive in March 2027. This just so happens to coincide with the busiest period of the season for Stuyven - the cobbled classics.
We'll have to wait and see how will the racing schedule of the third man from this year's Paris-Roubaix be adjusted, but it's very much possible that the 2021 Milano-Sanremo champion will be absent from the first Monument of the season.

Flexible calendar

Stuyven had a busy but successful season of 2026. Besides the Roubaix podium, the experienced Belgian was also part of Soudal - Quick-Step's nominations for Giro d'Italia and later Tour de France. In both, he played an important role.
In Italy, Stuyven took upon himself the role of Paul Magnier's last lead-out man which led to three stage wins for the young Frenchman. And in summer, he supported another speedster Tim Merlier at Grande Boucle, leading to additional three victories.
