"I gave it my all but it just wasn’t enough" - Tom Pidcock reacts to Mountain Bike World Championship disappointment

Tom Pidcock came up just short of retaining his Mountain Bike World Championship title last weekend in Andorra, finishing third as South Africa's Alan Hatherly fired to the rainbow jersey win.

After his epic performance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Pidcock entered the World Championship as the pre-race favourite. Despite the disappointment of losing his world title and rainbow jersey however, the Brit wasn't speaking of any regrets when he reacted to the result on his official Instagram account afterwards.

"I did my best to keep focused and prepare for this World Championships after the Olympics. It was a big motivation for me to retain my title, I gave it my all but it just wasn’t enough," Pidcock writes. "Chapeau Alan Hatherly on a super strong ride!"
