VIDEO: Mathieu van der Poel targeted by CX fans again during X2O Trofee win

When Mathieu van der Poel takes to the field in the winter, his unrivalled dominance brings with it extra TV coverage, extra hype and sadly it seems, extra levels of stupidity from a certain section of 'supporters' who've come to watch.
Last winter, Van der Poel was the victim of a few differences instances of crowd trouble during cyclocross races and that's happened again this Monday afternoon. During his dominant X2O Trofee win in Hofstade, the Dutch world champion was slowing slightly for an upcoming corner, when one member of the audience decided the time was right to lean over the barriers and puff his vape smoke right into Van der Poel's face.
Although Van der Poel seemed to blow off the incident (no pun intended), merely shaking his head as he rode away, the instance is another sad reminder of crowd troubles.
