Michael Vanthourenhout victorious in Exact Cross Meulebeke

Michael Vanthourenhout has won the Exact Cross Meulebeke. He beat Eli Iserbyt and Lars Van Der Haar to secure victory.
On the first lap, Michael Vanthourenhout established a gap on his rivals, but they soon caught up with him. But he once again tried, and this time he was successful in taking the lead. Eli Iserbyt joined him in the third lap and Laurens Sweeck in the fourth lap.
Sweeck crashed in the next lap, leaving Iserbyt and Vanthourenhout alone. Lars van der Haar didn’t let them enjoy the lead for much longer and joined them in the sixth lap.
The trio rode together for two laps before Vanthourenhout managed to get away in the eighth lap. Vanthourenhout held the lead till the finish line and took the victory. Iserbyt managed to snatch the silver while Lars Van Der Haar satisfied himself with bronze.

- He actually took a pay cut when transferred to Visma; he was the star at Jayco for years, he moved because a different team structure could improve his chances and they both got the benefits of the transaction.
