The main stars were absent from competition today in Essen in the women's race, and with that others grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Marion Norbert Riberolle took a strong and important win for her career.
The Belgian rider was the strongest on the day, in a course that was very muddy and difficult to tackle. The race was still tight, Riberolle narrowly beat Aniek van Alphen to take the triumph on the day. Laura Verdonschot finished third to complete the podium.
