Another round of World Cup action is in the books. In an absolute mudfest at World Cup Dendermonde, Lucinda Brand and Wout van Aert emerged victorious in their respective races, so let's take a look at how it has effected the overall World Cup standings.
Women's standings:
As mentioned, Lucinda Brand emerged victorious in Dendermonde, extending her World Cup lead over world champion Fem van Empel to 61 points. Further down, the likes of Zoe Backstedt, Marie Schreiber, Blanka Kata Vas and Inge van der Heijden are all very closely locked together in the fight for places lower down in the top 10.
In the men's race, as mentioned, Wout van Aert dominated in the Dendermonde mud, taking victory by over a minute from second placed Emiel Verstrynge. In the overall standings though, Van Aert doesn't crack the top 15 as Michael Vanthourenhout continues to lead the way ahead of Toon Aerts, Joran Wyseure.
