Seemingly every few weeks or months, the stories emerge again that
Remco Evenepoel is nearing the exit door at
Soudal - Quick-Step. Whilst this hasn't proven true so far, the recent rumours suggest that Evenepoel himself is trying to force through a move to
Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe.
According to a report by the Escape Collective, Evenepoel is actively seeking a transfer to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. "Remco Evenepoel wants out at Soudal-Quick Step before his contract expires at the end of 2026," begins a major revelation from the team at Escape Collective. "Multiple sources close to the discussions, who were granted anonymity to protect their positions, have confirmed to Escape Collective that the 25-year-old double Olympic champion has opened talks with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe about joining the German squad."
Because of these rumours, Soudal - Quick-Step boss
Jurgen Fore was a key target for many of the Belgian media ahead of stage 3 at the 2025 Tour de France, with questions of where Evenepoel's future lies amidst the ongoing and seemingly never ending rumours of a potential transfer switch.
