Having finished on the podium in his opening three races of the season at the Challenge Mallorca and third place overall at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana in an excellent third place in the overall classification, Aleksandr Vlasov has had a very strong start to the season in 2024.
In a BORA - hansgrohe press release after the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, Vlasov said "I’m happy with my performance here. On the last climb I tried everything I could to open up a gap or maybe even pick up some bonus seconds. After this first block of races, it's now time for some rest before we continue with the next races in March".
Sporting Director Patxi Vila is also satisfied with Vlasov's performance and that of the team as a whole, as he stated that "we leave this race not only with a podium, but also with five days of really strong work as a team and a good spirit in the team. We have shown where we currently stand and now we have to build on that. Looking ahead to the upcoming races, everyone has taken an important step here. Personally, I'm very happy to be back in the BORA - hansgrohe race car and working with the team".
