Despite the fact that Jonas Vingegaard is 2 years older than Tadej Pogacar, both began their pro careers in 2019, the season in which both obtained their first victories as professionals. The Dane won the 2022 Tour de France and the Slovenian the previous two, so we are talking about the two best cyclists on the planet right now.
Comparing their races to date, however, the UAE Team Emirates man has far superior numbers in all respects. Both have been in the elite for 5 seasons in which Pogacar has achieved a total of 60 wins compared to Vingegaard's 23.
And it is that Pogacar's career has been like a meteorite from the beginning and, taking into account the points of his colleagues from ProCyclingStats, he has accumulated to date a whopping 4814 points in his career only in general compared to Vingegaard's 2916.

In the classics, the Slovenian's advantage over the Dane is even more beastly: 3,975 compared to 320. Another fact that draws our attention is that Pogacar has traveled 51,899 kilometers in his career to date, well ahead of Vingegaard's 43,799.
Thus, Vingegaard's great successes come from the 2022 Tour de France: since then he has accumulated a partial victory in the French round, 2 stages and the generals of Itzulia and Dauphiné.
Pogacar, at 24 years old, destroys those numbers: 2 wins in the overall Tour, 9 stages, 2 Tirreno Adriatico, Paris-Nice, Fleche Wallonne, Amstel Gold Race and the Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Lombardy monuments (2), among many other victories.
These, of course, are just numbers that speak to both riders' careers to this day. We don't imagine Vingegaard being as multidisciplinary as Pogacar, but we also don't imagine that Pogacar will have an easy time overtaking Vingegaard on the Tour if he continues to ride so many classics in Spring. Much to enjoy these two colossi in the future and in the present from July 1 in the 2023 Tour de France.
