VIDEO: Michael Gogl involved in frightening Tirreno-Adriatico crash as TV motorbike runs over rider

A frightening incident unfolded during Stage 4 of Tirreno-Adriatico when Michael Gogl was struck by a television motorbike after crashing during the rain-soaked stage.
The Austrian rider went down on a wet section of road as the race intensified in the closing phase of the stage. Moments after hitting the ground, a race motorbike following the action was unable to avoid him and ran over the fallen rider.
The incident occurred as attacks were being launched in the breakaway group with around 30 kilometres remaining, during a tense and chaotic phase of racing in difficult weather conditions.
Fortunately, Gogl appeared conscious after the collision, although the severity of any injuries was not immediately clear at the time of the incident. You can watch the moment below.

KerisVroom12-03-2026 - The recent narrative has been all about how Pogačar Pogačar Pogačar is breaking records blah blah blah and is heading into the classics super strong. What about Mathieu? Last year, he won Le Samyn, went into Tirreno in good shape, achieving podiums in two stages. He then won Milano-Sanremo, E3 and Paris-Roubaix, and podiumed in De Ronde van Vlaanderen. This year, he's won Omloop, shattering the field, and two stages of Tirreno (and he might win more) already. With Pogačar all we have are numbers which are certainly fake, but with Mathieu his results are significantly better this year (of course Tirreno's route is more favourable this year, but it's still a much better performance).
Rafionain-Glas12-03-2026 - Giulio (personally my favourite rider) into blue! He and Isaac swap jerseys. Del Toro now has an Italian to chase down for the second time this season, although this time it's not climbing ability that's made it so but rather explosivity. In terms of sprinting, I think Giulio actually looks stronger - his sprint was more powerful on Stage 2 but he timed it wrong, and here it was certainly more powerful. We'll see climbing wise. Primož is also on great form and is on the podium. Concerning Ruben Silva's words "Pellizzari is not explosive and can't sprint"... erm Red Bull Bora hansgrohe brought 3 cards to Tirreno. So far, two are succeeding, but Jai Hindley is not. Of course they wanted to test out co-leadership with him and Pellizzari, but with this terrain that's not really possible. It'd have been far better to send him to Paris-Nice. Maybe then the Red Bull TTT on Stage 4 would have had a greater chance of challenging VingegaardRafionain-Glas12-03-2026
