At one point Kaden Groves had what seemed like an unassailable lead in the Green Jersey classification at the Vuelta a Espana. Almost by accident though, Remco Evenepoel was closing the gap, forcing Groves to change tactics.
On stage 16, the Alpecin-Deceuninck sprinter did everything he could to force a breakaway, being in multiple editions of the break and most importantly the group the managed to snap the elastic. In fairness, Groves didn't take an easy ride once in the break either, working hard on the front. After the Aussie had taken maximum points at the intermediate sprint and extended his lead by 20 points however, his work was done and he came to an almost complete stop waiting for the peloton.
