"Unfortunately, in the end I had two fast guys with me" - Nils Politt impresses again but must settle for 4th at Paris-Roubaix

After his podium finish at the Tour of Flanders, Nils Politt was once again heavily involved at the front of the race this Sunday afternoon, coming an impressive 4th at Paris-Roubaix.

"The legs were really good and I have to thank the team, they did a really good job," reflects the German of UAE Team Emirates in his immediate post-race interview with Eurosport. Although Mathieu van der Poel was a clear winner by three minutes in the end, Politt came into the historic velodrome alongside Jasper Philipsen and Mads Pedersen in a battle for the rest of the podium.

"When Mathieu went, there was playing in the group and they (Alpecin-Deceuninck ed.) were covering all the moves so it was quite difficult for me," Politt reflects. "Unfortunately, in the end I had two fast guys with me so it's 4th for me but I can be happy."
