Jonas Vingegaard poses with the Giro d'Italia trophy
Tadej Pogacar remains comfortably clear at the top of the latest UCI men’s rider rankings, but the post-Giro d’Italia update has sharpened the picture behind him, with Jonas Vingegaard strengthening his grip on second place and Felix Gall making the week’s most eye-catching jump into the top five.
The latest ranking, updated on 2 June 2026, keeps Pogacar at number one on 11,630 points, continuing his dominant spell at the head of the standings after a season already packed with major victories. Vingegaard, however, is now firmly established as the clear second force in the ranking after sealing overall victory at the Giro d’Italia.
The Team Visma | Lease a Bike leader now sits on 9,225.14 points, still some way behind Pogacar but also well clear of everyone else. That gap behind him is striking. Remco Evenepoel is third on 5,717.86 points, meaning Vingegaard has created a sizeable buffer over the chasing pack after adding the Giro to his season tally.
Evenepoel has also moved up one place, returning to third for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe and pushing Isaac del Toro down to fourth.

Gall storms into the top five after Giro podium

The biggest movement near the top comes from Felix Gall, who climbs 13 places to fifth after finishing second overall at the Giro d’Italia. The Austrian’s rise gives Decathlon CMA CGM Team a major presence in the upper reaches of the ranking, with Paul Seixas also holding seventh place.
Gall’s surge is one of several major Giro-driven changes inside the top 50. Jai Hindley rises 41 places to 19th after completing the Giro podium, while Thymen Arensman jumps 40 places to 27th. Paul Magnier is also up 14 spots to 14th after his successful Giro, with Jonathan Milan climbing 18 places to 28th.
Those movements have reshaped the middle of the ranking, even with Pogacar still out of reach at the very top. The Giro has not changed the identity of the number one rider, but it has heavily altered the order beneath him.

Van Aert and Pedersen slip as Giro reshuffles standings

While the Giro boosted several riders, some big names have moved in the opposite direction. Wout van Aert drops four places to 12th, leaving the top 10 despite his major spring results. Mads Pedersen falls 12 places to 18th, one of the most notable slides inside the top 20.
Primoz Roglic also drops 11 positions to 46th, continuing a difficult ranking picture for the Slovenian as Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe’s hierarchy shifts around Evenepoel, Florian Lipowitz, Hindley, Giulio Pellizzari and Jordi Meeus.
UAE Team Emirates XRG remain the dominant force in terms of depth, with Pogacar first, Del Toro fourth, Joao Almeida 13th, Jay Vine 26th, Jan Christen 38th, Brandon McNulty 39th and Benoit Cosnefroy 41st. Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe also place six riders inside the top 50, while Decathlon CMA CGM Team’s rise is underlined by Gall, Seixas, Tobias Lund Andresen and Matthew Riccitello all featuring.
