Tour de France 2026 Classifications Update Stage 16 - Remco Evenepoel cuts gap to Tadej Pogacar at the top as Florian Lipowitz crashes out of GC fight

The 2026 Tour de France classifications will shift across three weeks of racing, from the Grand Départ in Barcelona on 4 July to the final stage in Paris on 26 July. Across time trials, sprint stages, breakaway opportunities, and the high mountains, each day can alter the shape of the race for the yellow and the Tour’s other major jerseys. Tadej Pogacar remains firmly in yellow, but Remco Evenepoel has reduced the gap from five minutes to 4:32 after winning the time trial.

Isaac del Toro stays third at 6:51, just 20 seconds ahead of Paul Seixas. Florian Lipowitz’s abandonment moves Juan Ayuso into fifth and Mattias Skjelmose into sixth, while Ilan Van Wilder climbs to 11th after passing Richard Carapaz.

Mads Pedersen retains the green jersey with 417 points, leading Jasper Philipsen by 31 and Biniam Girmay by 56.

The time trial reshuffled the lower top 10. Tadej Pogacar moves above Søren Wærenskjold into sixth, while stage winner Remco Evenepoel climbs ahead of Isaac del Toro into ninth.

Tadej Pogacar continues to lead the polka-dot standings with 70 points, holding a 25-point advantage over Valentin Paret-Peintre.

Richard Carapaz remains third on 39 points, while stage winner Remco Evenepoel moves onto 36 and closes to within three points of the Ecuadorian.

Isaac del Toro retains the white jersey, but Paul Seixas has closed to just 20 seconds after the time trial.

Juan Ayuso remains third at 2:31, while Lenny Martinez stays fourth at 5:59. Florian Lipowitz’s abandonment removes one of the leading young riders from the classification.
